The Great Hall at Auchmar runs the complete length of the Manor House, culminating with staircases which lead to the second floor. Natural light floods in from the windows on the east and west landings, illuminating the richly detailed staircases and railings.
Another hall runs the full length of the Manor House from north to south, intersecting with the Great Hall near the west staircase, library and the Great Room.
Throughout the decades, from Elsie Buchanan to the Young Family to the Hungarian Sisters of Social Service, the hallways have been photographed.
The rich detail and master craftsmanship are evident when one views the columns of the Great Hall.
It speaks naturally to photographers, both professional and amateur.
