Biography
A long-time Hamilton resident, I first came to the city to attend McMaster University and quickly grew to appreciate its rich history, diverse neighbourhoods, and strong sense of community. Originally from a nearby small town, I value the character and stories that older homes and historic places bring to our shared landscape.
My passion for preservation is rooted in hands-on experience. I purchased my first home as a single woman at a time when it was far from the norm—an experience that was later featured in Home Girl: The Single Woman’s Guide to Buying Real Estate in Canada by Brenda Bouw. Since then, my husband Cameron and I have taken on several renovation projects, each deepening our appreciation for the craftsmanship and history embedded in older properties.
Most recently, we undertook the restoration of our century home on Aberdeen—transforming it from a property that felt better suited to a thriller film into a warm and welcoming family home. This journey has strengthened my commitment to preserving Hamilton’s architectural heritage and advocating for thoughtful restoration.
Professionally, I work in real estate in the Hamilton-Burlington area, where I bring energy, enthusiasm, and a strong commitment to helping others find and care for homes of their own. Personally, I enjoy cooking, kitchen design, and exploring plant-based cuisine with my family.
I am proud to support the Friends of Auchmar and to contribute to the preservation of one of Hamilton’s most significant historic landmarks for future generations.
