Biography

Patricia Saunders, FO.A. Membership Co-Ordinator

Patricia Saunders is a long-time resident of the Mountain.  She graduated from McMaster University and practiced Social Work at the Ministry of Health until her retirement in 1995.

Since her retirement she has immersed herself in heritage activities.  Patricia is an active member of several historical societies where she has taken a keen leadership role.  She is a member of the Hamilton Mountain Heritage Society having served as President as well as filling other Executive roles.  Her other involvements are too numerous to mention.  Suffice to note that she is a founding member of the Friends of Auchmar.  Currently she is a member of the City of Hamilton Historical Board where she Chairs the Heritage Events Sub-Committee.  She is also the President of the Women’s Canadian Club of Hamilton a group committed to preserving Canada’s history.

In addition to her interests in our history and heritage Patricia has an interest in politics being an Executive member of a riding association.  As well, she is an ardent bridge player having learned to play the game in her senior years.

While active in the community Patricia remains a devoted mother of five, grandmother of six and great-grandmother of one.
